Sushmita Sen : Early Life

Sushmita was born in a Bengali Baidya family in Hyderabad, though she grew up in New Delhi.

She did her schooling at Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute, studying English and St. Ann's High School in Secunderabad. Also, she wished to pursue journalism though she did not continue it any further.

Sen's father is Shubeer Sen, a former Indian Air Force Wing Commander and her mother, Subhra Sen, a jewellery designer and fashion artist. She has two siblings, a sister, Neelam Sen and a brother, Rajeev Sen.

• The 1990s Sushmita Sen got into the field of acting after she had won the grand title of Miss Universe. Dastak was the first movie of Sushmita as an actress in 1996, but it did not receive much success.
  Then, it followed by a Kollywood film, Ratchagan, which was a big hit at the box office. Again, she played the role of Rupali in Biwi No.1 after two years. In 1999, it was the second best selling movie. Also, she acted in the film Sirf Tum in that period.
• The 2000s Sen starred in the movie Aankhen, a massive hit and had famous co-stars like Arjun Rampal, Amitabh Bachchan, Aditya Pancholi, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal.
