Not many people are idea-oriented in this world but woman entrepreneur Preeti Chhipa is an exception. She is always in pursuit of problem-solving and generating solutions through innovative yet affordable measures. However, her purpose behind all the effort is not to make money but to help people. She has started two local for vocal online ventures that promote PMOs digital India initiative, i.e. www.theblockart.com & www.rakhiz.com.
Her latest venture clocked annual revenue of Rs. 1.10 in 2020 in just 2 months, despite being in losses for the last two years. Let us read today the inspirational story.
Mrs. Preeti got the idea of starting this business when she was unable to send the perfect gift to her brother and also couldn’t take out much time to visit the market & choose a rakhi for her baby brother. She is an entrepreneur, already running a successful eCommerce site – www.theblockart.com, due to which she often finds herself busy.
The problem made Preeti think about it and finally in 2018, she started her own Rakhi venture, www.rakhiz.com. that delivers affordable Rakhis with a wide variety of options to users. The idea was also supported by her better half, Anil Diggiwal, who encouraged her to start it and also funded the whole project.
Dr. Anil, who is also a Phd. in Information Technology, took the technical part on his shoulders, and developed the site & listed the products for her. Preeti, on the other hand, handled the marketing, product quality, & designs part.
Aarav Rakhis received a major boost in the COVID pandemic time when people were unable to step outside but still wanted to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. In her own words, “2018 was a bad year for us, we were at loss but to my knowledge, the one who doesn’t give up succeeds.” Her rakhis venture clocked annual revenue of 1.10 Cr last year with a good margin and Preeti sees good growth in the coming years for her new start-up.
Preeti aims to expand the business through a series of unique ideas, like rakhi combinations, sets, unique gift sets, and delivering the gift before 2 days.
Preeti’s whole emphasis of starting the venture was not to earn profits but help people witnessing the same issues as her. She made sure that no product looks unaffordable or expensive to the users and thus, works at an extremely low margin as compared to the competitors. Unfortunately, their first year was not profitable and 2019, the second year, also didn’t go well. However, coronavirus came as a surprise to them and happened to be a blessing in disguise for their eCommerce.
The company turned profitable and secured annual revenue of 1.10 Cr last year. The name became popular in most parts of the country and the investor game started to kick in. However, the husband-wife duo founders decided to keep it bootstrapped.
Aarav Rakhis’ founder, Preeti, gave a platform to local artisans and handicraft workers by selling their products at his portal. She made sure that no worker’s income is affected by her initiative. She also did months of research & sample testing to find the flaws in existing competitors and then traced the local rakhi makers.
So, this was all about woman entrepreneur Preeti Chhipa’s Aarav Rakhis. The platform aims to solve the current scenario issue and let people send rakhi to their brothers & gifts to their sisters at an affordable price. There are currently 1000+ designs and combos and one can check the whole collection on their site here.
