Jasprit Bumrah - Early Life

Bumrah started playing cricket at the early age of 14 years. He used to play for Gujarat's team and played various domestic level matches. Jasprit made his debut in first-class cricket against Vidarbha in 2013. He was the best bowler in the tournament and ended up picking seven wickets for the team. He also played for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and helped his team win a match against Punjab's team. Jasprit was the Man of the Match of that game.

  • Debut : Jasprit Bumrah got a chance to debut for India in 2016 against Australia. He was a replacement for Mohammed Shami as he got injured at that time. He got a chance to play both ODI and T20I against Australia. Jasprit is the 3rd highest wicket-taker in his debut test match by taking 48 wickets in just eight games. He is also the first-ever bowler to take five wickets to haul against three teams in the same calendar year (Australia, South Africa, England).
  • T20I Career : In 2016, he surpassed Dirk Nannes by taking the most T20I wickets (28) in one calendar year. He also played a crucial role in 2017 during his England tour for the T20I series. He bowled in the death overs and took two wickets by giving only two runs in the last over. He was also named the Man of the Match in that game.
  • ODI Career : His ODI career has also been impressive and, during his Sri Lanka tour in 2017, he became the highest wicket-taker by any fast bowler (15) in one ODI series of five or less than five matches. He has played some of the very memorable games for his team and led his team to win several matches.
  • Test Career : He got selected for a Test match in 2017 against South Africa. He took his maiden five-wicket haul in the 3rd match of the series. His second fifer was against England and, his third was against Australia in 2018.
